This award is a programme of the United Reformed Church which recognises and encourages excellence in churches working with children and young people.
To gain the Child Friendly Church Award a church needs to show that they have met certain standards.
It is not a ‘tick box’ exercise, but a process that the church works through with support from the CYDO.
You do not have to have children and young people in your church to work towards a child friendly church award, but ensuring that if any did begin to be connected to your church life then you would be ‘child friendly’.
We have several churches in our Synod that have the award or that are working towards a re award or for the first time.
Those with a current award are:
Abbots Rd URC, Leicester
Central URC, Derby
Newport Pagnell URC
Riverside URC, Sleaford
St Andrews URC, Peterborough
