Goodbye to Peter & Deborah

On Friday 8th November 2019 at Sherwood United Reformed Church we said good bye in a bug way to Peter -0 even though he still had at least a months work in front of him, and also in a smaller way to Deborah.

We sang "I want to walk with Jesus Christ", "Jesus, be the centre", "O God, you searched me and you know me", and  "I could sing of your love forever".

Revd David Legge, minister at Sherwood, opened the service with Words of Welcome, a "Statement of Purpose", and a Prayer of Confession.  Words of appreciation were give by Vic Allsop of Churches together in Leicestershire, and Yvonne Laws, Pastoral Consultant for Lioncolnshire, and Revd Geord Mwaura, Milton Keynes.

Robert White, David Greatorex and Helen Lidgett read bible passages and then Revd Dave Herbert, Moderator of Northern Synod, preached Words of Exhortation. (You can read them below).

Revd Geoffrey Clarke led Peter in a 'Liturgy of Release' before Prayers of Intercession were led by Revd Loraine Mellor, Chair of the Nottingham and Derby District of the Methodist Church,

Music was lead by Revd Judith Tatton-Schiff and Mrs Cathy Gould.
