As I am writing this, I have just finished an online gathering with many of the young people attending URC Youth Assembly at Kings Park Centre in Northampton on the weekend 7-9 March. 
We are blessed to have almost 20 young people attending from many churches across the Synod which is so exciting! This evening’s session was led by our Synod Youth Rep Billy who as part of Youth Executive has been working hard to plan and prepare the whole event. 
Please pray for
•  Billy, the Youth Executive and all the young people and adults attending, 
•  That young people have a great time sharing with others from across the denomination in worship of God, Bible reflections, activities, debates, workshops and evening entertainment and as they relax and have fun together.
•  For safety and well-being of everyone involved as they travel and stay over the weekend. 
I know from previous experience how valuable and formative these types of events can be as young people are inspired by the stories and challenges that they share.

Morning worship on 16 Feburary at St Andrew’s with Castle Gate (Nottingham) included the presentation of a Lundie Memorial Award to Zoe Logan. Zoe was nominated for her regular contribution of topical jokes for the church’s magazine, a service she has maintained without fail for five years and counting. The Moderator, who is also a member at St Andrew’s with Castle Gate, presented the certificate and award on behalf of Synod. We would like to congratulate Zoe on her wonderful achievement.

Children’s Ministry Essentials is the new course developed by the Children’s Ministry Network (updating Core Skills for Children’s Ministry). The course is designed for anyone working with children in local churches and consists of 10 modules covering a wealth of topics including child development and spirituality, pastoral care, leadership and teamwork and the role of play. The course can be accessed online at your own pace, or you can join a group learning together facilitated by our wonderful CYDO+ team. Each module normally costs just £10 and the whole course £80, but if you are engaging in ministry with children, families or intergenerationally within a URC church or Local Ecumenical Partnership, we will be offering free or discounted access to this course.
